POST PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Georg Jensen factory in Thailand is duty to produce many kinds of jewelry product follow as Denmark standard, in production part we separate to 2 part there are Pre-production is about produce or prepare material, Post production part is all about last processing to be finished goods or some material which need to achieve many processes or take one time to ship out or send to semi inventory. So, in this department, they have to connect with many departments especially inventory and production to achieve purpose of produce in each order, they have to work follow Job Card which is telling the working detail of such as time and date to start and end of each production process, processing detail, name of responsible person, code and product sample. Therefore, Georg Jensen Thailand factory is under Board of investment rules which cannot stock the finish goods in factory and need to deliver to warehouse under customs control or sell out. In this part we going to talk about working process of post-production factory.
Working Process

As Post Production Flow above there are 8 main stops in post production’s working process to make finish goods or semi goods;
First step, Issue Job cards and Picking lists or another name called Bom Card to silver and gold production line. This step, Shop floor control staffs receive notice from Customer service about customer orders which already manage and make order detail to be document and update in Microsoft dynamics AX so Shop floor control staff's duties is prepare and print out Job card and Picking lists and send to foreman in production lines follow by job card step.
Second step, foreman distribute work and start production process. Therefore, Georg Jensen Thailand factory have different and many processes to produce many products which separate to 2 main materials its gold and silver and 2 types of production process there are indirect process its separate to;

Laser – Laser for supporting jewelry.

Plating – Silver plating, gold plating, radium plating, black radium plaiting and anti-tarnish.

Auto-Grind
and direct process its separate to;

Shop 1 – Duties to produce silver jewelry, silver jewelry with enamel and silver jewelry with diamond.

Shop 4 – Duties to produce silver jewelry, silver jewelry with enamel and silver jewelry with diamond.

Shop 3 – Duties to produce silver jewelry, silver jewelry with enamel and silver jewelry with diamond.

Cutely – Silver war, Silver jewelry and Silver regrinding.

Shop Gold – Gold jewelry and gold jewelry with diamond.

Setting – Gold jewelry with diamond.
From the detail above, there are many departments in the factory and in each department, it has foreman to control and manage employees which follow the job card to make finish goods.
Thirst step, production process. There are many processes to make finish goods or semi. Post production processes are showing about the production of ever products which is produce in Georg Jensen Thailand Factory. However, Job Card is the main document to make and move production process until finished process.
Post Production Processes
There are 6 methods to produce product in factory;
Laser
The industry has always worked with a lot of engravings ( produced mechanically) or with methods such as etching. In the past, an important reason to produce gold inlay engravings on expensive pieces was to personalize them or to add a meaningful inscription.
Auto-Grinding
Grinding is used to finish work pieces that must show high surface quality (e.g., low surface roughness) and high accuracy of shape and dimension. Grinding, which is a type of machining using an abrasive wheel as the cutting tool. Each grain of abrasive on the wheel's surface cuts a small chip from the work piece via shear deformation.
Engraving
Most of this method we use for marry rings depend on customer request.
Plating
Plating is the process through which a piece of jewelry made from a certain metal or alloy is covered with a layer of another metal. For example, a copper or silver ring with a layer of gold on top would be sold as gold plated.
Oven
Is a form of heat adjustment by rapid cooling which makes the metal hard and make it stronger than before. there are potential disadvantages to the metal which metals are vulnerable to brittleness and flexibility is minimal wet brush.

Fourth step is posted last operation on job card. Its mean that finish production process of that order consider as the last production detail in the job card by the last employees who has responsible on the last production process need to posted or update to foreman and send product to QC.
Fifth and six steps is Quality Control and Anti Tarnish.
Fifth step is not complex because it all about Checking product by follow their standard before send product to Anti Tarnish or deliver to warehouse or customer but however, QC have to be careful on checking ever product before deliver or sending to next step. Anti-tarnish protection is making for the jewelry and precious metal industries are primarily made for storing and shipping the items. These products ensure the silver and other precious metals do not tarnish before they reach the retailer or while in storage so in this process is important because when the product pass this step, we cannot remake or change it again.
